 How To Fish
Another Flattie venue. Again this location, sometimes called the Trench is made for Flounder, Plaice and Dab all caught on worm baits, but best using a spoon rig with a 1/0 hook. Although the main target, other species such as Bass are caught on sandeel and rag along with Strap Conger to fish baits. Also you get the odd Thornback ray putting in an appearance and of course the resident Whiting in the winter. In the right conditions you will also catch plenty of Cod to 4lbs.
Do not fish here after heavy rain or snow for the fresh water coming down from the hills kills the fishing. The river also has a Bore which on a spring tide can be quite large.  This venue is best fished on a 24-25ft tide.
