HOW TO FISH
Amlwch is home to plenty of Conger caught all year round. Some of these are very large in excess of 20lbs. The best way to catch these is with a mackerel flapper on a conger rig, fishing off the harbour wall. Make sure you take a drop net.
In the summer you will also catch plenty of Wrasse to crab and ragworm baits and Pollack, Dogfish and Flatties to fish baits.
In the winter you will see Codling come in to 6lbs along with lots of Whiting, Dogfish, Bullhuss and Pollack caught on fish and worm baits.
I have also on occasion caught Smooth Hound to large fish baits.
