RAVENS POINT & THE FLAG POLE

HOW TO GET THERE

Follow the A5 up to the Valley crossroads and turn left onto the B4545. Keep going for about 3 miles then turn left into Ravens Point road by the grey wall.
Park as close to Ravens estate as you can but not on it as the clampers have a busy time, especially in the summer. The flagpole is 300yds before and can be seen from the road.

HOW TO FISH
One of my favourite places.
Summer brings in the big Wrasse to 4.5lbs and Pollack caught on worm and crabs. You will also catch the resident Doggies, Whiting and Dabs. On occasions there are some nice Smooth Hounds being caught on crab and rag and Bullhuss and Rays up to 14lbs on sandeel baits.
In winter you will catch the usual Dogfish and larger Whiting on just about anything.
In February the place comes alive with Coalies in the 3-4lbs bracket along with some nice Codling. These are caught on crab, lug tipped with squid and rag being the best baits.
Conger are caught all year round at this venue, falling for the large Mackerel baits.
