How To Fish
Fishing is now only allowed at the very end of the Pier. Night time is best. Permits are bought from Paddys Tackle Shop at the front of the Pier or from the security guard when he comes around. In the Tackle Shop you can get some excellent bargains and they sell great bait.
This venue produces very well all year round with Mackerel. Bass, Whiting, Dogfish, Pollack, Gurnard and Conger all being caught in the summer.
In the winter you get Whiting, Coalies, Doggies, Conger and some good Codling up to 10lbs caught on lug and peeler crab. A drop net is required here with some big fish always being possible. A good cast of 100yds at 11:00 o’clock from the end puts you onto a nice sand bed where I have caught Place of 5lbs and some good Thornback Rays to Sandeel.
